I love my mandoline so much that I actually had my students create instructions for its use in a technical writing course. Only one of them knew what it was. I'm a sucker for a good kitchen tool and this is my favorite.

Just an update. Last night, I served a variation of this dish. I didn't have orzo so I served it over bow tie pasta and swapped the goat cheese for blackened shrimp. 'Twas delish!

I think the pasta/corn/pepper/tomatillo sauce would be a great cold summer salad dish, also. Thanx for the inspiration.

What a GREAT event. It was a pleasure to meet all my table mates and the food was fantastic. I'm anxious to try to replicate the orzo dish. Elizabeth, I want that sangria recipe too - thanks for bringing it! Congratulations to all the UK crew - I think you guys have created a fantastic Charleston event and I, like Collette, predict that you will be shocked by the response you get.

they're two separate pieces of the dish. the salad is the corn, peppers, and orzo.

the ginger/tomatillo sauce is made in the food processor.
